PC Gaming Show at E3 2018: Yakuza 0, Warframe: The Sacrifice, Star Control Origins, and a Jaws sim
The PC Gaming Show is always my favorite E3 press conference. It usually feels one step away from disaster at all times, a far cry from the ultra-slick press conferences from Microsoft, Bethesda, and so on. This year's highlights included Yakuza 0--yes, you read that right--and Star Control: Origins, but it's worth scrolling through the full list of bigger announcements below and just admiring the breadth of experiences offered on PC these days. So many indie games were announced that we couldn't even cover them all here. The Goat Simulator team over at Coffee Stain Studios is making a real game again, Satisfactory. Not really sure what to make of this, except that it looks like a 3D Factorio or maybe a less puzzle-oriented Infinifactory.
What to expect at E3 2017: Live streams, new games, and Xbox Scorpio's big reveal
E3, the video game industry trade show, is dead. Long live E3 the consumer-facing show. Faced with an adapt-or-die situation the ESA's chosen to adapt, inviting 15,000 members of the public to attend the 2017 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles next week. Maybe we'll see you there. For the rest of you, the next week will pass as usual, in a flurry of game announcements, demos, and trailers--and Microsoft's grand reveal of Xbox's Project Scorpio console.
